WOW - tomato-y goodness!

I understand now what all the brouhaha is aobut heirloom tomatoes. The one I cut for breakfast this morning was so wonderful. I had forgotten how good real tomatoes are. So sweet and flavorful - truly a vegetable to stand on it's own. Not the plastic condiments to which they have been reduced. It reminded me of tomatoes I had eaten as a child from my grandfather's garden. I think the one I ate this morning was a Cherokee Purple.
