I stayed all day at work today. I was feeling a bit better and it's getting more quiet as we get closer to the holidays. Except for a holiday screamer, next week should be a breeze. I got all my reconciliations done today, so I can work on write-offs tomorrow and Friday, as planned.
Still, I was tired, and wishing I could just go on home tonight. But I had to get my hair cut, and there was no way I could move the appointment. Russ is booked solid through the holidays. I also had to bake a pound cake when I got home, for the pot luck at work tomorrow. I just can't bear to disappoint Christie. She is a girl I work with who just loves my pound cake.
Justin got in touch today. I had emailed him that I had his Christmas present, but wasn't going to have time to get back up there until after he got back from the holidays. He and James were down here shopping today, so decided to run by and see me tonight. Since they were done shopping before I got to the house, I told them just to go on in. I also told Justin that, should he feel motivated, there were the ingredients laid out to make a pound cake....
I wasn't really expecting him to do it, but to my surprise and delight, he did. I was very VERY grateful it was done when I came home. I was so tired, and hadn't gotten out from Russ's shop until about 7.
Unfortunately James wasn't feeling well. He was asleep, but I woke him up because I was ordering pizza for dinner. He didn't eat anything. I felt it was the least I could do, though, to feed Justin, after he had done me such a huge favor. He was gratifyingly excited about his gift, a set of Depression Glass sherberts I knew he wanted. I love giving gifts that people really want.
They hung out for a while and watched the end of "You Got Mail", which James really seems to like.
After the movie was over though, poor James was all in, and Justin took pity on him and took him home. I was pretty much done myself, and just finished cleaning up the kitchen and went to bed.
